The Boat - our pride and joy!

In 2007, we will again be racing our Dragon Powerboat in the P1 World Championships. We decided to work with Craig Barrie at Dragon Powerboats who has a long career in building and racing powerboats. His commitment to supporting the team in the 2006 season was a key part of the partnership we have created. His philosophy on building boats is also unique ... "I realized there is a higher level of quality to which performance boats can be manufactured. The customer will realize the difference in performance and will actually be able to see the difference in the end product".

The boat is powered by twin, Mercury HP525 EFI racing engines (Click here for engine details).

In order to fully realize the benefits available from composite construction, the structural engineering must specifically cater for the unique properties and characteristics of these materials.

Structural engineering is more than just producing a hull laminate schedule. It assesses the often highly differing requirements of the various components throughout the structure and even from boat to boat for the same area in order to balance weight, strength, stiffness, practicality and survivability.
