Husband and wife Jackie Hunt and Mike Shelton strengthened their
challenge for the Powerboat P1 championship supersport title with a
stirring second place in the British grand prix at Cowes yesterday.
The Arpro Racing duo from Hampshire reduced the advantage of class
leaders Ocean Dragon, the British- based Chinese team, who finished
a distant third.
Both were upstaged by the Italian Jolly Special crew, who advanced
to third in the overall standings and served notice of their
intention to exert more pressure in today's second round of the
grand prix.
Hunt, the only female 'throttle person' in the series, chased Jolly
Special hard in the closing stages but ultimately had to settle for
80 points.
